Mel B to make live TV presenting debut hosting Steph's Packed Lunch for one off special

Mel B is to make her live television presenting debut next month.

The Spice Girls star will front a special episode of Steph's Packed Lunch, which is broadcasted from Mel's hometown of Leeds, as part of Channel 4's Black to Front Project.

Mel will be joined by football icon Chris Kamara - who also regularly appears on the show - whilst Freddy Forster will be on hand to whip up something tasty in the kitchen.

She said in a statement: "It's going to be a lot of fun and I can't wait to spice up lunchtime television. I'm also really proud to be part of Channel 4's Black to Front Project, that's something to really celebrate."

Mel B’s Packed Lunch will have a whole host of celebrity guests as they chat about the topical issues of the day and all about real life and will be broadcast live from 12.30pm on Friday September 10 on Channel 4 and All 4.

Mel moved back to Leeds following the break up of her marriage to ex Stephen Belafonte, but she admits it is the most difficult thing she's ever had to deal with, not seeing her youngest daughter - who she shares with Stephen - because of the pandemic.

She told OK! magazine: "I’ve been a single parent for a long time, as I’ve always been the one who financially and emotionally supported my family...

"Not having my baby with me for months at a time is the hardest thing I’ve had to deal with."

Mel had been homeschooling her children - including Angel, 14, and Madison, nine - during the pandemic and she admits it has given her "so much respect" for teachers but she feels lucky to be able to "lean on" her family now she's back in Leeds.

"I have so much sympathy for all the parents who went through home schooling, and so much respect for teachers," she added.

"I had no problems with Angel because she’s 14 and pretty academic.

"Madi loves school but she’s nine, and her classes were in LA so we had some pretty late lessons.

"As far as juggling is concerned, my life has been one long juggling act, but now I can lean on my family, which is a massive thing for me."
