Mel B teases Glastonbury Spice Girls reunion - as Spiceworld's 25th anniversary approaches

Mel B has sent widespread Spice Girls fans into a frenzy by teasing that the supergroup could reform next year to headline Glastonbury Festival.

A confirmation would follow in the footsteps of Sir Elton John, who earlier in the same day announced that he will headline the Worthy Farm festival in 2023.

During an appearance on the Big Narstie Show on Channel 4, Friday, Scary Spice stoked the flames of a regrouping during a lively conversation about the upcoming 25th anniversary of band movie; Spiceworld.

The Mirror reports that Big Narstie - real name Tyrone Mark Lindo - asked: "If you do Glastonbury can I be the hype man?", to which, Mel replied: "Yeah, I would like that. That would be cool."

Co-host Mo Gilligan then added: "So you are playing Glastonbury?", leaving Mel to coolly respond: "Yes, I think so! But I’ve got to convince the four b*****s to do it with me!"

A very excited Mo, continued: "So the Spice Girls are playing Glastonbury?" with Mel backtracking: "Stop it, stop it! I never said that!"

The conversation follows on from comments made back in September by Spice Girls bandmate Mel C, who was also very keen on the idea of headlining the Somerset-based music festival. She said: "100 per cent I’d like to do it. I believe that is too big a gig for VB [ Victoria Beckham ] to be busy that night."

Mel also used her appearance on the show, meanwhile, to criticise James Corden, labelling the former Late Late Show host as one of the 'biggest d***heads in showbiz, adding that the older she gets, the less tolerance she has for annoying people.

She said: "I think you always have to be nice to the people that you work with whether it be production, camera guys, sound, lighting - we all work for the same thing. So you should always be nice and he hasn’t been very nice."

Asked who the most annoying celebrities, she quipped: "So, there’s a few. James Corden, Geri Halliwell, Jessie J and me. I know, I love Geri to bits but she’s really f***ing annoying."

The Big Narstie Show airs on Channel 4 on Friday nights, with catch-up on All 4.
