Mel B slams claims the Spice Girls 'mime' on reunion tour

People of the world listen up. Mel B wants you to know the Spice Girls do not mime.

Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, has hit out at a radio station for suggesting the girl group have been miming during their reunion tour.

Brown asked BBC Newcastle to “correct” claims made by presenter Anna Foster who told listeners “there might have been a bit of miming here and there” at their gig at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

Brown fired back on Twitter: “@bbcnewcastle FYI we don’t mime pls correct yourself!! You guys are nice.”

On seeing Brown’s tweet, Foster said: “I did say I thought Mel was fantastic. I thought the gig was incredible. I was just very, very honest about one particular performance.”

Brown has been performing across the UK with bandmates Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Mel C as part of their Spice World reunion tour.

They partied in Newcastle following the Sunderland gig with their support act Jess Glynne.

Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, pulled out of plans to tour, telling fans she wants to focus on her fashion empire.

But she sent her fellow bandmates a good luck message last month, with Bunton saying she hopes the fifth Spice Girl will come along to one of their three gigs at London’s Wembley Stadium next weekend.

Beckham previously told Good Morning America that it wasn’t a difficult decision saying “no” to a reunion as she will “always be a Spice Girl”.

She said: “I’m so proud of everything I achieved and I’m proud of them, I can’t wait to take my kids and see it. In spirit I will absolutely be there with them.”
