Mel B reveals 'intimate' new romance two years after split from Stephen Belafonte

Mel B hinted there is a new person in her life two years on from her split from ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.

The Spice Girls star told Piers Morgan on his ITV series Life Stories that she wasn’t quite ready for love, but that she was enjoying it for what it was.

Piers grilled the star over whether she was dating again, after she opened up about her marriage to Stephen.

In December, the singer released her new autobiography 'Brutally Honest', and spoke about being a victim of "domestic violence, mental abuse and almost torture”.

Almost two years on from her split, the star revealed she’s learning to “feel safe” again with a mystery partner.

As Piers asked how her dating life was going, she told him she was focusing on herself for the time being before teasing there could be a romance on the cards.

She said: “I really love myself… a lot,” leading to applause from the audience.

Mel went on when asked about love: “I don’t think I’m ready for that right now, I’m very happy with myself and my kids and I’m … that’s it.”

But Piers wasn’t convinced, prying once more about her love life.

He said: “That’s it? Really? You’re pulling that face that you’ve had throughout this interview, when we all know that’s not it.”

She went on: “No, cos I have had a really loving intimacy,” before refusing to tell Piers who the mystery person was.

Mel explained how she wanted to keep some things private, revealing: “I don’t think that person should even be talked about. For me it’s nice cos when I left my ex I couldn’t even be touched, I was terrified and paranoid and I’d wake up with nightmares and in hot sweats.

“So for me to feel safe with somebody, let me just feel safe for a little bit and I’ll tell you when I’m comfortable to talk about it.”

Mel added that she wasn't "in love" but instead was "in lust".
