Mel B relies on fellow Spice Girl's fashion expertise for wedding dress design

Mel B will make sure her wedding dress has plenty of zig-a-zig-ah… by asking pal Victoria Beckham to design it.

The Spice Girl, who announced her engagement to hairdresser Rory McPhee last year, told how he had won over her bandmates by popping the question with a £100k ring.

But when it comes to her dream wedding dress, she is keen to get top designer Victoria on board.

Mel, who makes her debut on TV contest Queen of the Universe this month, says: “The wedding planning is really exciting.

I’m enjoying it, but I’m taking it in my stride.

“I’m not getting stressed out by it because it shouldn’t be stressful… I want it to be enjoyable. It’s a nice celebration.

“I think Victoria might be helping me with my dress so I should be able to breathe on the day. I’d better be able to. I’ll have to have a word with her.”

Mel hit the headlines last week when she revealed that all five Spice Girls would be reuniting for a soon-to-be-revealed project.

And while she has kept tight-lipped about the details, she admits it was her who got Victoria on board.

Mel says: “I pulled Victoria back so we’re going to do something at some point this year.

“It’s exciting, but I can’t say any more than that otherwise I’ll be cussed out.”

Glastonbury, we suggest, could use a little Girl Power this year – to which Mel laughs: “I can’t say any more, I just can’t. All I can say is that the fans are going to be very happy, because it’s all five of us so it’s going to be good.”

The girls – Mel, Victoria, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm – were rumoured to be on the bill for King Charles’ Coronation concert last month, but were eventually ruled out.

And Mel admits she was firing off angry messages to the other girls as it aired.

She says: “It didn’t end up happening, I was sad about that. I was texting the girls, going, ‘Argh…’

“I did watch it though. I came down from Leeds and I got to see the streets of London without traffic and everyone dressed up, waving their flags. I really felt the energy, it was good.”

The only flag missing was Geri’s iconic Union Jack dress…
