Mel B 'plans second wedding in Morocco' — but will Geri Halliwell snub possible Spice Girls reunion?

A Spice Girls reunion may be on the cards and it’s all thanks to Mel B.

The singer, 50, is reportedly planning a second wedding celebration in Morocco following her London ceremony with hairdresser Rory McPhee, 37, and it's set to offer her former bandmates another chance to reunite.

The couple officially tied the knot at St Paul’s Cathedral over the weekend, where guests including comedian Alan Carr and Celebrity Juice star Leigh Francis gathering for the ceremony, followed by a £28,000 reception at The Shard.

But of the original girl group, only Emma Bunton was in attendance.

While Victoria Beckham and Mel C both took to social media to send their congratulations, Geri Halliwell-Horner remained silent, fuelling reports of a long-running rift between her and Mel B.

However, the upcoming Moroccan celebration may serve as a fresh opportunity for reconciliation, according to MailOnline.

The North African country holds a unique connection to the group. Back in 2015, the Spice Girls had a mini reunion in Morocco for David Beckham’s 40th birthday, though notably, Mel B was the only one missing.

At the time, actress Eva Longoria filled the gap, joking: “I'm the new Spice Girl! #LatinaSpice.”

Now, the tables have turned.

Mel is reportedly hoping to bring the full lineup together this summer for what she’s described as a “more informal, sexy and beautiful” second celebration.

It’s understood that the Morocco wedding could be a moment of healing, especially between Mel and Geri, whose friendship has often made headlines.

Tensions between the two famously came to a head in 2019 when Mel B claimed in an interview with Piers Morgan that she and Geri had once been romantically involved during the band’s early years.

Geri reportedly felt blindsided and deeply upset by the public revelation, which Mel has not publicly apologised for. Sources also claimed Geri’s husband, Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner, was “mortified” by the claims.

While Geri has yet to publicly acknowledge Mel’s wedding, the other Spice Girls made sure to send their love.

Victoria Beckham posted a black and white throwback snap of the group alongside a message: “Congratulations @officialmelb @rorymcphee on your special day! I couldn't be more excited for you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness! kisses xx.”

She had previously shared another tribute with a recent photo of her and Mel, writing: “ Sending love to you @officialmelb! @rorymcphee is a very lucky man! xx”.

Mel C, who was performing in Sweden on the big day, expressed her disappointment at missing the London ceremony: “So so happy for you both and beyond gutted I couldn't be there. Excited to celebrate with you really soon! Yippee!”

Emma Bunton showed up in person, looking elegant in pink and joined by husband Jade Jones and their son Beau, 17.

The Standard has contacted Mel B’s rep for comment.
