A Twitter exchange between Spice Girls bandmates Melanie Brown and Geri Horner declaring they “love lesbians” has resurfaced, after Brown claimed that the pair slept together during the group’s heyday.

Brown made the revelation to Piers Morgan while recording an episode of Life Stories, though Horner, née Halliwell, has since denied the “hurtful” reports.

In light of the claims made by Brown, Twitter users have unearthed an old conversation between the singers which dates back to 2013, when the band was promoting the Spice Girls-inspired musical Viva Forever.

In response to a tweet promoting an interview with one of the show’s stars from the official Viva Forever account, Horner shared her love for the character Diamond, writing: “Diamond is one of my faves, she’s so gentle, yet you can’t stop watching her.”

Resurfaced: Twitter users dug up the old conversation (Twitter)

Brown then responded to her message with “lesbian,” prompting Horner to reply: “I love lesbians.”

“Me too!!!” her bandmate then wrote.

Mel B revealed she slept with bandmate Geri Horner

In a statement released today, a representative for Horner addressed the recent headlines prompted by Brown’s interview, describing them as “very disappointing” and “simply not true”.

“It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days,” the statement read.

“Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma [Bunton], Melanie, Melanie [Chisholm] and Victoria [Beckham]. She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.

“Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.”

Horner, Brown and their bandmates Chisholm and Bunton will reunite for a stadium tour later this year, without Beckham.
