Meiklerig Crescent police incident: Pollok disturbance sees man rushed to hospital with serious injuries

A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a disturbance in Pollok.

The 25-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Govan after the incident, which happened at around 5:45pm on Saturday May 8.

A local eyewitness told Glasgow Live police had taped off the area at Meiklerig Crescent yesterday evening.

The man's condition is not thought to be life-threatening. Police are carrying out enquiries into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.45pm on Saturday, 8 May, we received a report of a disturbance on Meiklerig Crescent, Glasgow. A 25-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident on the other side of the city, two men have been arrested for attempted murder and a third man for assault following a disturbance in Blairdardie.

Two men, aged 38 and 41, were taken to hospital for treatment and their condition remains unknown, although yesterday cops said they had suffered ‘serious injuries’.
