Meghan Markle wore a £29.50 fascinator to her first British royal wedding

Meghan Markle has shown it doesn't need to cost a fortune to look like royalty, after she accented a couture dress with a high-street hat as a guest at her first British royal wedding.

The Duke and Duchess attended the wedding of Princess Diana’s niece, Celia McCorquodale, over the weekend, with Meghan dressed in a £4,148 Oscar de la Renta dress - but it was Markle’s fascinator that captured attention.

The simple white bow fascinator, which pulled Markle’s outfit together, is from British retailer Marks & Spencer and costs just £29.50.

The affordable Pillbox Bow Fascinator is part of the M&S Collection and comes in colours navy and white - and it is is still available on the Marks & Spencer website.

According to the retailer’s website, the piece, which features a “swirling bow design” is made of 100 per cent straw - and it accented the flowy blue-and-white floral design of Markle’s wrap dress.

Apart from the fascinator, the former actress’s outfit was perfectly complemented by her husband, Prince Harry, who wore a tie in a matching shade of blue.

However, this isn’t the first time the Duchess has paired high-end pieces with inexpensive accessories.

Markle attended a Christmas Day church service in £23 gloves paired with a £1,414 Sentaler coat.

The Duchess also showed her affinity for the high-street brand when she paired a Marks & Spencer jumper with a pair of Burberry trousers.

Judging by the trend of Markle’s fashion choices selling out within days or minutes, it likely won’t be long before the chic, reasonably-priced pillbox fascinator does as well.
