Meghan Markle 'wore £150k of Princess Diana's jewellery' on walk after skipping Coronation

Meghan Markle was reportedly seen wearing £150k worth of Princess Diana's jewellery on a recent hike with pals after she skipped the King's Coronation.

The Duchess of Sussex, who was pictured out on a walk with her friends just hours after the historical ceremony, wore comfy and low-key hiking gear which she accessorised with a bundle of lavish jewellery items.

Some of the dazzling pieces she wore are said to have belonged to her late mother-in-law which were gifted to her from Prince Harry, the Mirror reports.

The Duchess wore Princess Diana's famous Cartier Tank Francaise watch according to fine jewellery and engagement ring experts at Steven Stone. Diana originally began wearing the watch to replace the gold Patek Phillippe that Prince Charles gave her for her 20th birthday.

However, she stopped wearing the Patek Philippe entirely after her marriage began to break down and wore her Cartier instead, which was gifted to her on her 21st birthday from her father, Earl Edward John Spencer.

The Duke of Sussex later went on to pass the watch down to Meghan who made her debut wearing it in a rare portrait of the couple that was released ahead of the couples episode of Time100 Talks.

The watch was said to be worth £17,8000 at the time but is now reportedly worth more due to its history.

Meghan was also seen wearing the Cartier diamond tennis bracelet that also previously belonged to the former Princess of Wales.

The stunning tennis bracelet which has been valued at around £140,000 was inherited by Meghan in 2018 and the mother-of-two even wore the statement piece in the couple's bombshell interview with Oprah in 2021.

The bracelet was gifted to the Duchess in the early days of her and Harry's relationship and it's widely believed that this particular piece of jewellery is the one that the Duke took stones from to make Meghan's bespoke engagement ring.

Zack Stone, managing director of Seven Stone, noted Meghan's touching tributes to Diana, saying: “ Meghan Markle frequently pays tribute to Princess Diana through her jewellery – most notably with the late Princess’ striking aquamarine ring, which the Duchess wore on her wedding day."
