Meghan Markle will be staying at home with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet while Prince Harry attends the King's coronation, Buckingham Palace has confirmed, following weeks of speculation over whether Harry and Meghan will be at the coronation.
The Duchess of Sussex is set to miss out on the historic occasion which takes place over the weekend of May 5th, to stay at their home in LA with her and Prince Harry's two children.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has confirmed that he will be making the 10,000 mile round trip to join the royal family with the celebrations, despite the weekend coinciding with his son Prince Archie's 4th birthday on May 6th.
It comes after reports that Archie was set for a 'big moment' at the event and after both Archie and Lilibet were given official royal titles.
Royal biographer and Finding Freedom co-author Omid Scoobie, shared the news via social media, penning, "BREAKING: 'Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.'"
He added, "I understand that Archie's fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple's decision. Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey."

The news that Prince Harry will attend the coronation has been long-awaited following his bombshell Spare memoir that shed a light on his strained relationship with his father, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William.
The Duke of Sussex also opened up about his hopes to rebuild bridges with his father and brother but admitted he was hoping for an apology from them ahead of the coronation.
While it is unknown if a private apology was given to Harry from Charles and William, he insisted that the ball was "in their court" back in January.
When asked by Tom Bradby if he would attend the coronation at the start of the year, Prince Harry replied, "There's a lot that can happen between now and then. But, the door is always open. The ball is in their court.
"There's a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they're willing to sit down and talk about it."
