Meghan Markle will never come back to the UK because of her fallout with the Royal Family and her 'low popularity' with the British public, a royal author has claimed.
A tell-all interview with American chat show star Oprah Winfrey with uncomfortable revelations about the royals has seen the rift with the family grow.
Meghan will now be put off coming back to the UK as she feels she has lost a lot of public support said royal author Anna Pasternak.
She told Fox News: "Will Meghan Markle return to the UK?
“My speculative answer would be no, not if she can help it.
"Sadly, I cannot see her ever becoming a loved and cherished member of the Royal Family with the unified respect and adoration of the British people.
"I think that ship has sailed."
The royals famously keep family matters to themselves as much as possible and so the decision to speak to Oprah will not have gone down well with The Firm.
There are also a number of claims in the interview that have been disputed, including that they married three days before the Windsor wedding.
The Archbishop of Canterbury has since confirmed this was not the case.
Meghan's claim son Archie was not to be given the title of Prince has also been queried, as existing rules mean he wouldn’t become a prince until Charles becomes king.
Pasternak feels the British public were angry with the Meghan and Harry as they felt they insulted traditions, and polling would appear to support this idea.
She said: "Many people feel the interview was a total lack of respect for the monarchy and in a sense, for the British.
"Because the monarchy is part of the British psyche.
"So this monarchy bashing can also be viewed as British bashing."
