Meghan Markle 'will fight back' against Piers Morgan after his on-air remarks about her

A royal biographer has insisted that Meghan Markle won't stand for Piers Morgan speaking out about her publicly much longer.

Palace insider Angela Levin has said that the Duchess of Sussex will not let Piers Morgan's verbal attacks go unanswered any more, as the former Good Morning Britain host has frequently expressed his opinions on Meghan following her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

After the interview Piers said he didn't believe a word that Meghan said which caused fallout on the GMB set as the 56-year-old walked off and later quit the ITV breakfast news show.

And now, after remaining fairly quiet on the matter, Piers has now taken part in a few US TV interviews to tell his thoughts, claiming on Tucker Carlson's FoxNation show that he did not believe at least 17 of the allegations made by the Duchess.

Angela Levin has insisted that Meghan will "want to fight back."

Speaking on TalkRADIO's Mike Graham's show, Angela said: "I think it is a bit like a verbal boxing match.

"Each of them wins a round and the other won comes back and is more spiteful or more difficult or says more things.

"They have one thing in common and that is neither of them likes to lose out.

"So they carry on punching away."

The royal biographer continued: "I imagine that the lawyers are working out if there is a sentence or a verb or something that Piers said that they could jump on.

"So I think it is a bit precipitous actually to say she hasn't come back yet.

"She is a very determined woman, heavily pregnant or not. She will want to fight back."

On Tuesday night, Piers claimed he had received messages from the Royal family expressing their "gratitude" over his remarks after Meghan and Prince Harry's tell-all Oprah chat.

Speaking to Extra's Billy Bush, he said: "I've had some messages communicated to me on behalf of several members of the Royal Family.

"I'm not going to go into who it was... but gratitude that somebody was standing up."

Viewers called for the host to name the royals, after Piers demanded Meghan give names for the people she claimed did not help her when she was struggling with her mental health while living with the royals.

Piers sent shockwaves through the showbiz circuit when he quit Good Morning Britain last month, just days after the interview with Oprah aired.

His comments sparked a major backlash leading to talks with ITV, with it soon revealed that Meghan had complained to ITV about what he said on the show.

Now, Piers has accused Meghan of putting pressure on his bosses to axe him from the role - while he also said he didn't know about the complaints until after he left the show.

He told the host: "It was certainly a very interesting revelation from where I sit, because clearly she was trying to put huge pressure on my bosses to take action against me."

Elsewhere, Piers also defended his friend Sharon Osbourne after her dramatic exit from US show The Talk, in the wake of Piers' GMB departure.

Sharon was involved in a tense clash with her The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood last month, after Piers was accused on the show of making racist comments.

As a result, the chat show was taken off air as the channel investigated the incident and shortly after CBS confirmed Sharon's departure from The Talk in a statement.

Piers hit back over the decision, adding: "I had a lot of support privately from a lot of people, a lot of support publicly from well-known people, most notably Sharon Osbourne, but look at what happened to Sharon on The Talk for defending me and my right to have an opinion.

"Even though she made it clear that she didn't agree with everything I was saying, she was then targeted by Sheryl Underwood on The Talk and she was accused of supporting someone who had said racist things."

He added: "It's not racist to disbelieve Meghan Markle — don't give a damn about her skin colour, I do care about the veracity of what she was saying."
