Meghan Markle wears retro £185 dress by Reiss on International Women's Day

Following the announcement on Friday morning that Meghan Markle has become vice-president of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, which champions young leaders around the world, she stepped out for International Women’s Day to take part in a panel convened by the organisation.

The 37-year-old was joined for the discussion at Kings College London by a whole host of powerful women: Annie Lennox, Adwoa Aboah, Julia Gillard, Chrisann Jarrett and Angeline Murimirwa to talk about a range of issues affecting women today.

The heavily pregnant duchess wore a short, retro-inspired shift dress with a high neckline and monochromatic pattern. The printed 'Azzura dress' is from British high street brand Reiss. It costs £185 and is still available in the majority of sizes.

"The black-and-white Azzura dress channels the mood of the 1960s with its block-colour swirl design and a simple shift silhouette" states the retailers website.

Adding a workwear twist to the day dress, Meghan layered it with a structured Alexander McQueen black blazer, sticking to her signature minimal aesthetic by adding Manolo Blahnik pumps and a matching Stella McCartney clutch bag.

Meghan's hairstyle was also more polished than usual, fashioned into a neat updo, coupled with a subtle smokey eye.

This is the first time Meghan has been seen wearing Reiss, previously favouring high street brands H&M and M&S. Her latest affordable look being showcased just 24 hours after one of Kate Middleton’s favourite brands, LK Bennett, collapsed into administration.
