Meghan Markle to voice Disney+ documentary about elephants

Meghan Markle's first job since stepping down as a senior member of the Royal Family has been announced.

The Duchess of Sussex will voice a Disney documentary on elephants. Funds from the film will benefit Elephants Without Borders, a charitable organization focused on conserving wildlife and natural resources.

The announcement comes months after her husband Prince Harry was overheard at the Lion King premiere telling Disney's Executive Chairman Bob Iger that his wife is good at voiceovers.

“You know she does voiceovers,” Harry was overheard saying.

The Elephant documentary is coming to Disney+ on April 3.

Meghan and Harry are officially stepping down as senior working royals on March 31.

The Sussexes have a history of traveling to and supporting Africa. They famously visited Botswana in 2017 at the beginning of their relationship, where they spent time with their spirit animals (elephants) and did conservation work.

Harry talked about that time in an interview and said, “I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana. We camped out with each other under the stars. She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic. So then we were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure that we had a chance to know each other.”
