Meghan Markle to be 'front and centre' of Prince Harry's Invictus Games

Meghan Markle will be "front and centre" of Prince Harry's Invictus Games as she knows how important it is to him, a royal source said today.

But Kate Middleton and Prince William, Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, will reportedly miss the event, which sees injured military personnel competing against one another.

Harry, though, is said to working "flat out" to arrange the the Invictus Games. It will be held in The Hague, Holland, in three months.

A royal source said: "Harry and Meghan will be at the front of the centre of the Games.

"Meghan knows how important it is to Harry and will be at his side."

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, shares her husband's huge passion for the games, reports The Sun.

William and Kate are unlikely to be present, as is Harry's dad Prince Charles.

The royal insider added: "William had not been expected to attend even before the news broke about Harry and Meghan’s decision to step away from public life.

"So it is highly unlikely that he and Kate will be a part of the event in any way. But it isn't a snub. The entire Royal Family remain hugely supportive and very proud of Harry’s work on Invictus and think it is a wonderful event.

"It's very much in Harry's vision although he has regularly turned to his father for advice and support over the years. It is unlikely to be any different this time round but Harry will be front and centre."

Harry launched the Invictus Games in 2014 and is patron of the foundation.

William attended the opening ceremony that year in London and the Duchess of Cornwall and Charles joined to watch the athletics events.

Jonny Dymond, the BBC Royal Correspondent, said last night: "Now they have ended up really completely on the outside.

"Yes of course, there is still the family role and the private role and they are clearly always going to be members of the private side of the royal family.

"But publicly there is no role at all. No tours, no titles, nothing."
