Meghan Markle sparks labour rumours as special friend jets into London

Meghan Markle is due to give birth imminently to her and Prince Harry's first baby - and she's sparked rumours it's all kicking off with the arrival of one of her closest friends.

Wendell Pierce, who played her on-screen dad in the long-running drama series Suits, has jetted into London just days ahead of Meghan's rumoured due date.

Wendell, 55, sent royal fans into a frenzy when he tweeted a picture of Tower Bridge at sunset.

"It's great to be living and working in London while the exciting builds around the Duchess of Sussex soon giving birth to her first child," he wrote.

"Meghan, I'm very happy for you. Blessings."

Wendell is in town to stay in the Arthur Miller play Death Of A Salesman, which is on at the Young Vic Theatre between May 1 and the end of June.

It means the former Suits star, who played Robert Zane to Meghan's Rachel Zane, will be perfectly placed just a few miles away from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's new home in Frogmore House to meet their new baby.

Fans have already been drawing comparisons between Wendell and Meghan's real father, Thomas Markle, who has been estranged from his daughter since the royal wedding last May.

Thomas pulled out of walking Meghan down the aisle after a series of embarrassing fake paparazzi shoots were exposed, and claimed to have suffered from a heart attack days before the wedding.

Since then, he has desperately reached out to repair the bond in their relationship, but a number of snide comments about the Palace has seen Meghan refuse to take his calls or answer his letters.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been getting used to life away from the spotlight as she and Harry bed down in Windsor Castle's Frogmore House.

They've already planted an organic vegetable garden outside the Grade-II listed property, where they'll be able to grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs.

The cottage was gifted by the Queen last year, with Kensington Palace confirming them to be the new residents, saying Windsor was a "very special place" for the couple.

Meghan is said to be "very involved in the renovation project and wanted the final design to be perfect", according to a royal source.

"Workers have been working around the clock since January to ensure that the cottage is completed to a very high standard with some rather interesting and unique features," the source added.
