Meghan Markle shares rare picture of Prince Archie to mark sixth birthday

Meghan Markle has shared a rare glimpse of Prince Archie as she marked her son’s sixth birthday.

Taking to Instagram, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, uploaded a picture showing Archie, who is sixth in-line to the throne, with him back to the camera and looking out to the sea and the sun.

The mum-of-two captioned the image: “Our son. Our sun. Happy 6th birthday to Archie!

“Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy.

“He’s six! Where did the time go? (And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special).”

She signed off with a red love-heart emoji.

Archie has made a number of appearances on Meghan’s Instagram feed since the duchess launched her As Ever business.

She is always careful to obscure the faces of both him and his younger sister Princess Lilibet, three.

The youngster’s celebrations, held thousands of miles away from the royal family in the US, took place after his father Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with the BBC in which he said the King will not speak to him and he does not know how much longer his father has left.

Despite launching a number of scathing attacks on his family since he and his wife stepped down as senior royals and relocated to the US in 2020, he also shared his hopes for a "reconciliation".

The Duke of Sussex, 40, speaking after losing a Court of Appeal challenge over his security,  said he “can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point”.

Harry looks set to miss out on any celebrations for Archie today as he prepares to head to Las Vegas to launch a new youth initiative with the Diana Award.

The Pledge To Invest drive aims to put a spotlight on the future of youth leadership and how forward-thinking businesses can support it.

He will chat with Sikander “Sonny” Khan, from Michigan in the US, and Christina Williams, from Jamaica, as well as Paul Fipps, of Service Now, at the Knowledge 2025 event.
