Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha has branded her a “narcissist” after an emotional letter from the Duchess of Sussex to her estranged father was published.

Meghan begged Thomas Markle to “stop lying” and accused him of fabricating stories in the press and attacking Prince Harry in the letter published by the Mail on Sunday.

She also hit out at the "manufactured" lies by Mr Markle's "other daughter" Samantha, who the duchess said she "barely" knows.

“On a daily basis you fixated and clicked on the lies they were writing about me, especially those manufactured by your other daughter, who I barely know,” she wrote.

The duchess hit out at her father for siding with Samantha while she "silently suffered at the hand of her vicious lies".

Samantha hit out at Meghan on Twitter within hours, replying to one tweet: “Some narcissits (sic) were 'only children', others… wish they were."

She also suggested Meghan might care about her if she had more money. “If I had 600 mil she would care,” she wrote.

In her handwritten five-page letter, which friends said Meghan wrote to her father in August last year, the duchess addressed her father as “Daddy” and said her heart was broken “into a million pieces” after he failed to attend her wedding.

She wrote that Mr Markle had caused her “unwarranted pain” and never tried to get in contact with her despite offering help when he suffered two heart attacks and pulled out of attending the wedding.

Mr Markle, a former Hollywood lighting director who now lives in Mexico, has repeatedly told news outlets he has been shunned by his daughter and her husband.

The duchess wrote: “I begged you to accept help – we sent someone to your home…and instead of speaking to me to accept this or any help, you stopped answering your phone and chose to only speak to tabloids.”

She added: “If you love me, as you tell the press you do, please stop.

“Please allow us to live our lives in peace.”

In his response to his daughter, Mr Markle denied publicly attacking the royals and signed off by asking if she and Harry would pose with him for a photo.

"If you and Harry don't like it? Fake it for one photo."
