Meghan Markle’s upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan has found itself at the centre of controversy, all thanks to a celebrity guest appearance that’s ruffled quite a few feathers. The show, which is set to return for its second season on August 26, features model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen.
Teigen’s involvement has sparked a wave of criticism, with many viewers taking to social media to demand that Netflix cancel the entire episode she appears in. The uproar largely stems from Teigen’s past behaviour, especially her treatment of US model and TV star Courtney Stodden. Back in 2011, Teigen made a now-infamous tweet about Stodden, suggesting she should take a “dirt nap.” While Teigen has publicly apologised for her comments, a number of fans still aren’t ready to forgive her.

One user on YouTube put it bluntly: “Netflix should cancel the episode with Chrissy Teigen as she is the ultimate cyber bully.” Another viewer took to Twitter, echoing similar sentiments, saying Teigen’s past actions are in direct conflict with the message of kindness and anti-bullying that Meghan Markle has championed in recent years.

However, not everyone is against Teigen’s appearance. A few fans have come to her defence, with one supporter commenting, “They could never make me hate you Sydney.” Some argue that the criticism is overblown, especially considering Teigen’s public apology and efforts to move past her past mistakes.
You should be absolutely DISGUSTED with yourselves for promoting this!!! If the liar and bully Meghan Markle wasn't bad enough, you decided to include Chrissy Teigen! Absolutely beyond words. You are despicable.

Despite the divided opinions, the backlash has raised an important point: Meghan Markle, who has long been an advocate against online bullying, now faces accusations of hypocrisy for welcoming one of the internet’s most notorious ‘bullies’ into her show. The feminist outlet Jezebel pointed out the contradiction, saying: “The purported anti-bullying advocate opened the doors of her rich friend’s Montecito mansion to one of the internet’s most prolific bullies.”
For Meghan, who’s already navigating a tricky public image, this latest controversy could prove a significant challenge. With her brand centred around empowerment and kindness, her decision to work with Teigen has left many questioning her judgment.

Nonetheless, With Love, Meghan is set to feature several other celebrity guests, including the likes of Tan France, chef David Chang, and food writer Samin Nosrat. The show promises to offer more than just drama, but for now, it seems the spotlight is firmly on the backlash surrounding Teigen’s involvement.
