Meghan Markle's name and job title on Archie's birth certificate confuses fans

The birth certificate of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was released recently - but royal fans were left confused by a few details.

Meghan Markle gave birth to Archie on May 6 2019 at the Portland Hospital in London.

Devoted dad Prince Harry registered the event meaning a birth certificate was released.

And as birth certificates are a matter of public record, fans of the couple could take a closer look at the details.

But fans were amazed to learn Meghan's 'real' name and her job title as "Princess of the United Kingdom".

While she was given the title the Duchess of Sussex by the Queen on her wedding day, she is also technically a princess, just not in her own name, reports Mirror Online.

She is Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales through her husband, Harry.

The Duchess of Cambridge also listed princess under the job section part of the form on Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis's birth certificates.

Some fans were also surprised to see that the name was listed as Rachel, with many unaware that this is her real name.

But her parents Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland have called her Meghan since birth, and all her of her friends use it rather than Rachel.

It was also the name of her popular character in her hit legal drama Suits.

Harry is also listed under his 'real' name - Henry - on Archie's birth certificate.
