Oprah Winfrey and Meghan Markle's mum once bonded over tropical fruit, raising hopes of a star cameo appearance in the upcoming royal interview.
Back in 2018 Doria Ragland was introduced to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's neighbour and friend Oprah in the weeks leading up to their royal wedding in 2018.
The Los Angeles social worker, 64, was hosted by the TV show host, 67, who admitted trying to woo her for an interview.
The connection between the pair was obvious, with Oprah sending Doria off with a basket of kumquats.
The chatshow star later told Entertainment Tonight : "She said, 'I love kumquats,' and I said, 'I have a kumquat tree! You want some kumquats?'
She added: "For all of the people who said I am getting her gifts and I'm trying to bribe her for an interview—they were kumquats.

"If kumquats can get you an interview, I’m all for it!"
Oprah's frankness when it came to her desire to bag an interview, and the pair's connection, has raised the prospects that Doria could make a cameo appearance in the up coming royal interview.
Last week it was revealed that Meghan and Harry had agreed to do a no-holds-barred interview with Oprah which is due to air on March 7.
The CBS special will focus mainly on Meghan with Harry joining in at the end.

Doria and Meghan are said to be extremely close, and the interview could provide insight into their relationship, the Daily Star reports.
The 39-year-old Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry moved to the US last year, and it is understood her mum is a big reason for them doing so.
Doria, 64, was the only member of Meghan's family to attend the Royal Wedding in 2018, and now lives in the same state as the pair.
Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Prime-time Special will air on Sunday, March 7 at 8pm EST on CBS, which is around 1am in the UK.
