Meghan Markle's fans baffled by key details on Archie's birth certificate - here's what they mean

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have now officially registered their son, and just like all other kids his birth certificate is a public record.

It was published today and we got to learn a few new bits of information about Archie Harrison.

The little royal was born on May 6, but until today we didn't know where Meghan had given birth.

And while royal fans were delighted to see the exciting paperwork, some were a tad confused by some of the details.

So here are some of the key points explained.

(PA)

Meghan Markle's real name isn't actually Meghan - and Prince Harry's isn't Harry

Why is Meghan's job description Princess when she's a Duchess?

Under the 'Mother' section, it says "Princess of the United Kingdom".

But Meghan's official title is Duchess, isn't it?

Yes - she was given the title the Duchess of Sussex by the Queen on her wedding day, which is how she is officially referred to.

However she is also technically a princess, just not in her own name.

She is Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales through her husband.

The Duchess of Cambridge also listed princess under the job section part of the form on Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis's birth certificates.

Meghan Markle's friend breaks down in tears in emotional interview about Duchess

Why is Meghan's name listed as Rachel, not Meghan?

Under the name section, it reads: "Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex".

Even though we all know her as Meghan, the Duchess' real name is actually Rachel and she uses her middle name as a stage moniker.

All of her friends call her Meghan, with many also referring to her as Megs in interviews.

It was also the name of her popular character in her hit legal drama Suits.

Surprisingly normal way Prince Harry told rest of the Royal Family that Baby Archie had been born

And why is Prince Harry listed as Henry?

Just like his wife, Harry also doesn't use his real name.

His parents Prince Charles and Diana named him Henry, but said from the start he would be known as Harry.

He's used the nickname ever since, and it's now only official paperwork which has his full name.

Why doesn't Archie have a title?

When they announced Archie's name, Meghan and Harry also confirmed that their son wouldn't have a HRH title.

He technically shouldn't have had one thanks to his positioning.

Even though he's seventh in line to the throne, about Princess Beatrice and Eugenie who both have titles, he will be bumped down considerably when George, Charlotte and Louis have kids of their own.

The Queen could have given him a title, but it's unlikely that the couple wanted this as they seem determined to give him a 'normal' life.
