Meghan Markle refuses baby shower because she thinks it's 'inappropriate'

Meghan Markle will not have a star-studded baby shower, as she did with her first child Archie, according to reports.

The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly shying away from an extravagant shindig to mark the impending birth of her daughter with Prince Harry.

The decision is said to have been taken by Meghan because she feels a big celebratory bash would not be 'appropriate', given what is going on in the world right now.

According to US Weekly Meghan will spend time with Archie and Prince Harry instead.

She feels her "time and resources" can be "used for a better purpose," and will swap the shower to focus on humanitarian and philanthropic work, writes The Daily Star

US Weekly reports the source as saying: "Meghan doesn’t feel a big baby shower with gifts is appropriate right now.

"There is too much strife in the world.

"She and Harry have been so involved with humanitarian issues, they both feel their time and resources can be used for a better purpose."

In 2019, when she was expecting the couple's first child, Archie, Meghan’s pal Serena Williams threw the former actress star a luxurious baby shower.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a daughter in a matter of months, it is thought she is due some time in the summer.

According to the source Meghan has the support of Harry and her friends and family "and nothing else matters".

The source said: "Harry is the ideal partner, taking care of Archie and working to provide for his family," they said.

The Daily Star contacted representatives for the Sussexes for comment.
