Meghan Markle has been accused of trashing the Royal Family to boost her career, only to end up with what critics are calling a disappointing new Netflix series.
The Duchess of Sussex has been promoting the latest season of her lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, but the reception has been far from flattering. Viewers and commentators say the programme, which features her cooking and strolling through orchards in California, feels flat and uninspired.
Commentator Samara Gill told The Sun: “She would be fine if there wasn’t the sort of destruction that had come in the past five years towards the Royal Family, and towards a lot of other people along the way.”I feel like it’s like… is this all there is?

“Is this what that entire fight for freedom was about? If it all amounts to this bland cooking show and her prancing through a Montecito orchard in linens?”
Gill added that the whole thing felt anticlimactic and underwhelming. “It’s sort of anticlimactic to be honest and it’s kind of a bit sad in my opinion. It should have been more genuinely.”
She also compared Meghan’s latest effort to her old lifestyle blog, The Tig, suggesting the Duchess had lost the energy and personality she once had. “Even looking at past Tig blog reviews and things like that she had so much more spirit and so much more to offer. Now it’s just very manufactured,” she noted.
The backlash has only added fuel to long-running criticism that Meghan and Prince Harry’s decision to break away from the Royal Family was more about personal gain than independence. While the couple spoke of wanting freedom and privacy, critics argue that their media ventures, including bombshell interviews and streaming deals, have been less about substance and more about cashing in on their royal ties.
The Netflix show was meant to cement Meghan’s brand in the lifestyle space, but early reaction suggests it may be falling short of expectations. Rather than winning praise for sophistication or charm, it has been dismissed as formulaic and lacking authenticity.

For Meghan, who once received positive reviews for her creative flair on The Tig, the criticism will sting. The comparisons make it clear that some feel she has lost touch with the qualities that made her relatable in the first place.
Whether With Love, Meghan can recover from the rough reception remains to be seen, but for now, it appears the Duchess is facing more questions about her choices, and once again, her critics are not holding back.
