Meghan Markle met by screaming fans at University of Johannesburg in South Africa

Meghan Markle was met by hoards of adoring fans as she returned to her tour of South Africa after several days away.

Having officially enjoyed a weekend away from the limelight, the Duchess of Sussex got back to work on their penultimate day of the ten day tour with a trip to the University of Johannesburg.

A large crowd of screaming women were there to meet the 38-year-old, who was wearing a £95 dress from Banana Republic.

The Duchess visited the university which is part of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, an organisation that promotes international academic collaboration and which Meghan became a patron of in January this year.

She was met by Susana Glavan, director of the British Council, on her arrival.

Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, vice chancellor of the University and Dr Joanna Newman, secretary general of the ACU, then welcomed Her Royal Highness to the institute.

The Duchess's last official appearance came on Thursday when she attended a breakfast at the High Commission in Cape Town.

Yesterday she was spotted making a solo trip to Johannesburg's Victoria Yard - a popular arts and craft venue.

During her visit Tshepo Jeanmaker, a custom jean maker, handed Meghan a pair of dungarees for baby Archie.

Prince Harry has also been busy.

On Friday the royal dad-of-one donned body army and a protective visor to follow in the footsteps of his later mother Diana.

He walked through a partially cleared land mines to highlight the ongoing threat of the munitions in Angola, where Diana visited in 1997 to urge the world to ban the weapons.

Later that day a photo was posted of the Princess of Wales on the Sussex Royal  Instagram  account with the caption: "The Duke is humbled to be visiting a place and a community that was so special to his mother, and to recognise her tireless mission as an advocate for all those she felt needed her voice the most, even if the issue was not universally popular."

Near the south-eastern town of Dirico, the Duke has now walked into an area that was once an artillery base for anti-government forces who had mined the position in 2000 before retreating.
