Meghan Markle may be headed for 'one-woman show' after Spotify axes podcast deal

Meghan Markle is reportedly keen to forge ahead in her own career without Prince Harry as she focuses on solo projects.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were recently dropped by Spotify following their $20million deal, which only resulted in 12 episodes of Meghan's podcast Archetypes. It's been reported that Archewell failed to honour the terms of their deal, which said both Harry and Meghan would be involved in the podcast.

Following the collapse of the deal, Meghan could forge her own career as a “one-woman show”. While Prince Harry is working on his Netflix project Heart of Invictus, the Duchess has a slew of solo moves up her sleeve.

“It is looking increasingly like the duchess has traded their Sussex double act for her own one-woman show,” journalist Daniela Elser wrote for news.com.au Saturday.

“Meghan — and only Meghan — has a new super agent and reportedly ‘offers have been pouring in’ for Meghan — and only Meghan. It looks a lot like, for the first time, the couple are truly on divergent professional paths,” Elser added.

The couple's Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan which was released last December was a huge hit on Netflix (Netflix)

While Harry is focussing on his ongoing legal battles, it's been reported by the Mail on Sunday has reported that WME’s “mission to reinvent Meghan is already well underway”.

“We’ve been working on the rebranding of Meghan for weeks,” a source told the Mail. “Ari is the best in the business when it comes to corporate deals and making money. He’s excited to be representing Meghan and has thrown all his energy into it. The offers have been pouring in, including from other podcast platforms.”

The Duke and Duchess have been noticeably quiet in recent months as royal fans have been trying to work out what their next move will be. Crisis PR expert Eric Schiffer told recently: “Meghan is wise to distance herself from her husband’s toxic dramas. This is a woman who constantly moves forward.

"This is about building a global brand. There will be some big deals announced soon”.
