Meghan Markle just reminded us of the power of a slogan tee

The Duchess of Sussex has made a cameo appearance in husband Harry’s new AppleTV+ docuseries on mental health, The Me You Can’t See, which airs on May 21. The show sees Harry, along with Oprah Winfrey, discussing attitudes to mental health and emotional wellbeing with testimonies from the likes of Lady Gaga and Glenn Close alongside the famous presenters.

Meghan appears briefly at the end of the trailer, dressed coolly in a crisp white tee bearing the slogan ‘Raising the Future’, nodding to her current pregnant status. The Duchess is due to give birth to the couple’s second child this summer.

Tucked into a pair of tailored black trousers, the top is from British brand Mere Soeur’s mum collection and costs just £27 (cue an online stampede to the digital checkout).

The tee also comes in different colourways, including a hot-right-now pink and red pairing, as well as sweatshirt versions.

Slogan tees have been around for a while backed by the mania for all things 90s, which is still very much alive and kicking. They’re an easy way to make a statement, support a cause (think Choose Love) or crack a joke - Gigi Hadid putting the tee in tee-hee with her ‘lol ur not zayn malik’ design springs to mind. And all while maintaining social distancing! Perfect post-pandemic clobber, if you ask us.

Style yours like Meg with tailored trousers and a blazer for the office, or French tuck into a midi and add layered necklaces to take your off-duty uniform up a notch.
