Meghan Markle is 'one of the most confident' Royals ever - but tiny gesture gives her away

Meghan Markle is unlike the Royals we've had in recent years.

Her celebrity background meant she was well used to the spotlight before she stood next to her Prince and showed off that stunning engagement ring.

And her experience seems to have really helped her as she gets used to her new role as the Duchess of Sussex.

Speaking on the Mirror's royal podcast Pod Save the Queen , body language expert Judi James says: "I think shes probably one of the most confident members of the Royal Family that we've ever had, in a really good way."

However after spending a lot of time watching the mum-to-be's movements Judi believes there is one gesture which might show moments when she's not quite so sure.

She says: "She doesn't do many self-comfort touches.

"She has that tiny little gesture where she touches her hair, but apart from that. And even that can be a bit of a pruning gesture.

"She has no rituals like that at all which I think is completely wonderful, that she's got that level of confidence."

However she believes Meghan's confidence and experience could have also been harmful when it comes to how people view her.

She said: "But unfortunately and possibly because of that, which is very sad, she does seem to be suffering from what's called the Tall Poppy Syndrome.

"At the outset everything she did was right and everybody was her fan

"It happens all the time with celebrities and they get a bit too popular and then suddenly everybody seems to like to work in the opposite direction and become critical.

What Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal baby statement means and what will actually happen

"Sadly I don't think that's been her fault at all, she's interesting and she hasn't really put a foot wrong.

"Obviously the rumours have been gathering.

"She's bringing her baby into that atmosphere and I can understand why she might be a bit more protective."
