Meghan Markle is 'happy and relaxed' as she prepares to give birth to royal baby

Meghan Markle is now believed to be a week overdue with her first royal baby , but the Duchess is apparently taking the whole thing in her stride.

The mum-to-be and her husband Prince Harry are reportedly "happy and relaxed" as they wait to meet their little one .

The couple are now settled into their new home Frogmore Cottage, and Meghan's mum Doria Ragland is staying with them to support them through the exciting time.

A source told the Daily Mail : "They are happy and relaxed and looking forward to the arrival - whenever that may be."

Many of Meghan's friends, including TV news presenter Gayle King, have been visiting Meghan at Frogmore Cottage .

There have been lots of rumours that the baby was born earlier in the week and the couple were keeping it a secret, but Buckingham Palace has said these are untrue.

Unlike other royal mums, including Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge , Meghan has decided to keep the details around her birth a secret.

This means people can't wait outside the Lindo Wing for news, and have to simply wait for an announcement from the palace.

'Clues' which have convinced Meghan Markle's fans she's already given birth - even though she hasn't

There was some confusion yesterday when Harry announced he was cancelling his trip to Amsterdam , just days after it was announced.

He will hopefully still go to The Hague on May 9, but it will be a single day trip rather then spending two days in the Netherlands.

Delaying the planned trip means he will stay an extra day with his his wife the Duchess of Sussex, who will either be significantly overdue or enjoying her first few days with their newborn baby.

Queen's clever move means she's ready for arrival of Meghan Markle's royal baby

A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: "Due to the logistical planning for the travelling press to cover visits and engagements by The Royal Family, we have taken the decision to postpone The Duke of Sussex’s scheduled visit to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8th May 2019.

"The Duke is currently scheduled to travel to The Hague  on Thursday 9th May for the launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 as planned."
