Meghan Markle is 'about five months pregnant', expert predicts

A royal expert has predicted that Meghan Markle is about five months pregnant, so could give birth to her baby boy or girl in June or July.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared their exciting baby news on Valentine's Day to the delight of royal fans around the world.

Traditionally, royal couples share pregnancy news at three months but based on their reveal photo it appears Meghan is further along.

The gorgeous black and white photo shows the duchess already has a lovely bump.

Camilla Tominey told Today Extra: "Normally you would expect news to come along when she is three months, but we think she is about five months.”

Royals don't normally share their exact due date, but they give a rough idea.

For example, when Meghan and Harry announced they were pregnant with Archie they said she was due "in Spring 2020", while Princess Eugenie, who gave birth last week, said "early 2021".

Their decision not to give a rough timeline is in keeping with their new non-royal lives after they quit The Firm last year.

The couple were keen to keep the details surrounding Archie's birth completely secret, a decision that caused much debate among royal watchers.

Many people praised them for doing things their own way, while others thought it was a shame to skip the normal celebration traditions such as the hospital steps photos.

For Meghan's first pregnancy, the couple stuck with royal tradition and announced it around the three month mark - on the eve of their tour of Australia and New Zealand.

They were offered messages of congratulations throughout the two-week trip and were given lots of gorgeous gifts for their baby.

The couple announced they are having another baby yesterday.

A statement from the couple read: "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."

Following the announcement, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and entire family are ‘delighted’ and wish them well.”

Royal sources also confirmed members of the royal family were informed by Harry and Meghan that they were expecting prior to the couple’s announcement.
