Meghan Markle in tears on podcast reading sweet letter from her children

Meghan Markle has been interviewed for the first time on a podcast since meeting Prince Harry - and broke down in tears reading a letter from her kids.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43 - who runs her own podcast Confessions of a Female Founder - spoke to her friend Jamie Kern Lima on her podcast, The Jamie Kern Lima Show.

And the mum-of-two teared up when reading a sweet note from children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

“From Archie and Lili via Papa,” she read. "We love your cooking. We love your pancakes and we love, love, love your hugs.

“You're the best mummy and we love you.”

After reading the note, she remarked: “So sweet. I also love that it's mummy, instead of mommy, which is very British."

"I wasn't expecting this, they're just so great,” she said, wiping away tears.

"This is why it's so nice to have no make up on, thank you."

In the teaser clip, Markle also says that she writes emails for Archie and Lili every day - for the pair to read when they’re older.

“I thought it was such a great time capsule to create for them and so I created for the kids these email addresses...that I will give them at some point,” she said.

“Before I go to bed, every night, I email them.”

Getting emotional, Meghan also spoke about her journey with self-worth, saying she no longer feels the need to prove herself to people.

“We spend so much of our life trying to prove something,” she said.

"To prove that you're enough, that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, a good enough wife, or friend.

“I was just so done with the prove it game and if you can't see it I don't have to prove it to you.

"That's your loss because I know that I'm a great friend and know the kind of mum I am, and the kind of human being I am.

"I know how I show up and I love being able to be that person with the people I love.

"Maybe part of worthiness comes when you stop having to feel like you're in the prove it game.”
