Meghan Markle may be out of the royal spotlight, but she’s reportedly been quietly working behind the scenes to mend strained ties within the Royal Family. According to a source who spoke with Heat World, the Duchess of Sussex has made it a personal mission to extend olive branches—one thoughtful gift at a time.
“She continues to acknowledge people’s birthdays – she’s still sending gifts – and she’s stayed in contact with Eugenie to maintain that bridge as best she can,” the insider revealed, highlighting Meghan’s ongoing efforts to stay connected with select royal relatives.
Among those still in touch with the Sussexes are Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, as well as Zara and Mike Tindall. While these relationships may not be widely publicized, the insider says they remain intact. “Zara and Mike don’t shout about their relationship with the Sussexes from the rooftops, because it is still frowned upon by a lot of people in the royal family, but it’s known that they, along with Eugenie and Jack, have a lot of time for Harry and Meghan,” the source said.
The Duchess’s efforts aren’t just social; they’re strategic. “This is her way of trying to alleviate the hostility levels, basically,” the source explained. Meghan has reportedly sent small, curated gifts—mostly to a select group that includes King Charles, Queen Camilla, some members of the York family, and a few others she’s still fond of.
This gesture, the source added, was a joint decision made after “she and Harry had a talk.” Prince Harry “thought it was a lovely gesture,” and it appears to have received some acknowledgment in return. “They’re both hopeful that it will go some way to at least thaw the icy relationship with the King, and he did have someone in his office write back to say thank you, which Meghan found gratifying.”
Beyond rebuilding relationships, Meghan is also using these moments to highlight her lifestyle brand. “She’s so proud of her products and has every confidence that everyone who gets to taste them will agree that she’s creating magic,” the source said.
