Meghan Markle fans upset over birthday blunder on ITV's Lorraine

Meghan Markle fans were left upset after spotting a blunder on ITV's Lorraine today.

The Duchess of Sussex is celebrating her 39th birthday today and host Christine Lampard paid tribute.

But fans were left with raised eyebrows after noticing that ITV has misspelled Meghan's name.

As they aired footage of the former actress, a messaging saying "Happy Birthday Megan" appeared on the screen.

Viewers took to Twitter to point out the blunder.

While another commented: "Another example of the unconscious bias against Meghan #Markle in the British #media - @lorraine not even having the respect to spell her name right just now @ITV."

Meghan will celebrate her big day in Los Angeles after leaving the UK with husband Prince Harry last year.

The Royal Family tweeted a message with a balloon and cake emoji saying: "Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!"

They also shared a photo of the Queen with Meghan during a visit to Chester back in 2018.

Meanwhile Kate Middleton and Prince William also wished her happy birthday with a photo of Meghan smiling with a schoolgirl.

They wrote: "Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today!"
