Meghan Markle fans stunned by 'Meg image' from 1962 - but it's not what it seems

Back in May, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex gave birth to an adorable baby boy named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

During her pregnancy, the gender of the baby was kept a secret, but there was plenty of speculation.

Now fans are going wild after the 37-year-old's close pal Daniel Martin shared a snap of a painting from 1962 which some people believe was a "prophecy" and predicted years ago that Prince Harry and Meghan would have a boy.

But it's not quite what it seems, as the picture from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art was actually painted for the Queen's sister, Princess Margaret to celebrate the arrival of her son David.

Martin posted the photo of the Andy Warhol artwork on his Instagram on Wednesday.

The image shows a New York Post front page, proclaiming "A Boy For Meg" and next to this headline is an image of a woman, wearing a black dress, pearls and large hat - which some thought bared an uncanny resemblance to Meghan.

Her friend captioned the post, writing: "Ironic, don't ya think...?"

Many people began flooding the comments sharing their thoughts on the painting, which was created 57 years before young Archie came into the world.

One person said: "This is insane! It almost looks like her when she wears some of her hats and fascinators."

A second replied: "Warhol called it back then."

"The genius of Warhol: When artistry meets prophecy," proclaimed a third.

Someone else added: "Wow, that is so incredibly bizarre and cool at the same time."

Princess Margaret gave birth to David Armstrong-Jones (also known as David Linley), on November 3, 1961.

The painting Martin shared, was created based on an actual newspaper front page released at the time.

The late princess, who died in 2002, had two children and was often referred to as 'Meg' by the press.

Some fans were aware of the picture's origins and pointed out the history of the image in the comments.
