Meghan Markle 'could win top prize' at GQ Men of the Year Awards in 'massive coup'

Meghan Markle could win one of the top prizes at this year's GQ Men of the Year Awards in London, it has been claimed.

The Duchess, 41, could reportedly receive "one of the top awards" in recognition of her charity work in the ceremony which will be held at the Tate Modern on November 16.

Prince Harry attended the awards via video link from California last year, with individual tickets for the awards show costing around £5,999 each.

The glitzy event is usually attended by a huge list of A-listers, which has in the past included the Beckhams, Ed Sheeran and Idris Elba.

An unnamed source told The Sun the award would be a "massive coup" for Meghan.

They said: "She already has a close relationship with GQ due to her friendship with Vogue's Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful which is also owned by Conde Nast.

"Talks about the evening were already happening before The Queen's passing so no doubt things will have to be re-evaluated to make sure it's as respectful as possible."

It comes after a recent poll showed Meghan Markle 's popularity has plummeted since she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals, but she is still considered to be more popular than Prince Edward and Prince George, according to a new poll.

The survey asked 2,000 royal fans which members of the Royal Family they admired the most - and overall, Prince William and Kate topped the list.

King Charles III came third in the poll, followed by Princess Anne and Prince Harry. Sophie Wessex was sixth, followed by Camilla, Queen Consort.

The Duchess of Sussex was voted the 8th most admired member of the Royal Family, with Prince George in the 9th place and Prince Edward in the 10th spot.

People from different age groups, however, had contrasting ideas as those in the 18-24 age group said they admire Harry and Meghan the most.

Those aged 25-34 voted brothers William and Harry as their joint favourite, while people aged 35-44 said they admire the Prince of Wales and King Charles the most.

People in the 45-54 age group said they especially admire William and Kate, while Princess Anne and the Princess of Wales were voted the favourite by those aged 55-64.
