Meghan Markle mirrored one of Kate Middleton's tried and tested styling habits during her final official royal engagements alongside Prince Harry .
Kate is often seen to pay tribute to the countries she is visiting through her choice of colours, as she displayed on her trip to Ireland last week when she stepped out in a series of green outfits.
And as Meghan and Harry prepare to step back from their roles as senior royals, the Duchess of Sussex appeared to adopt the subtle statement and give a final nod to the UK by wearing red, white and blue outfits at the couple's last appearances.
She wore a £29 white Topshop blouse with chiffon sleeves as she returned to the National Theatre in London, pairing it with a cream Roland Mouret pencil skirt and Loewe handbag.

That evening, Meghan attended the Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House, donning a £950 azure blue dress by Victoria Beckham and a navy Lucia Plexi Clutch by Stella McCartney.
And she stunned in a full-length red £1,295 Safiyaa dress and red Aquazurra heels for the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall, alongside Harry who wore mess dress uniform complete with medals awarded from two tours of Afghanistan, as reported by the Daily Mail .
It's a tactic used previously by Kate, who wore the national colours of Pakistan during a visit to the Aga Khan Centre in London in October last year ahead of a royal tour of the country later in the same month.
Paying homage to national culture through sartorial choices may be a trick which both Kate and Meghan learned from the Queen, who often does the same with details of her clothing including her hats and brooches.
Meghan and Harry accepted an invitation from the Queen to join her at The Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor today.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will officially step back from royal duties following their final engagements as part of tomorrow's Commonwealth Day.
