Harry walks solemnly behind Diana's coffin in trailer for new Oprah documentary

Footage of Princess Diana's funeral is set to feature in a new mental health documentary made by Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey for Apple TV.

The 36-year-old Prince will be reflecting on one of the most traumatic moments from his own history – the death of his mother in 1997 when he was just 12-years-old.

His wife, Meghan Markle, and their two-year-old son, Archie, will also feature in the new documentary series – which is titled The Me You Can’t See and is due to start streaming later this month.

Prince Harry and 67-year-old Oprah are listed as Executive Producers for the series which has been directed by BAFTA Award-winning Asif Kapadia and Spirit Award nominee Dawn Porter.

A new trailer for the documentary series dropped on Monday showing Prince Harry in conversation with Oprah.

The pair discuss words often used to describe mental health issues, citing “crazy”, “lost it”, and “can’t keep it together” as examples.

Harry says: "To make that decision to receive help is not a sign of weakness. In todays world, more than ever, it is a sign of strength."

During a montage of video clips, footage of Prince Harry at his mother's funeral can be seen.

The Prince famously walked alongside his brother, Prince William, then aged 15, at the funeral of Diana in 6 September 1997 with the boys in procession behind their mother's coffin.

The late Princess was 36 when she was killed in a car accident in Paris – an accident that has been heavily blamed on paparazzi who were giving chase to the car the Princess was in.

Harry has previously declared he was forced to move away from the UK to California with his wife and young son over fears history could repeat as paparazzi and media attention intensified on the royal and his wife following their 2018 wedding.

Meghan herself and Archie look set to feature in the documentary as well – as both appear in the two and a half minute trailer.

Meanwhile, more recent event look set to be a point of discussion in the show.

It is suggested Prince Harry will highlight the impact the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has had on global mental health.

He is heard saying: "The results of this year will be felt for decades. The kids, families, husbands, wives, everybody".

Oprah looks set to open up about her own past trauma's – with the star seen saying in the trailer: "It's just something I accepted."

The talkshow icon has famously discussed in the past the abuse she suffered at the hands of her own family while growing up.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Lady Gaga suggests she will grant fans access to herself unlike ever before as she shakes off her stage persona to share her own experiences of trauma under her real name – Stefani Germanotta.

The star says she wants to share her experiences to help others.

In the trailer she is seen saying: “I don’t tell this story from my own self-service. I’ve been through it an people need help.”

All episodes of The Me You Can’t See will be available to stream from May 21 on Apple TV+.
