Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s traveller neighbours moved on by cops

A group of travellers who set up camp near the home of and have been moved on by police .

Around 15 vehicles, including five caravans and a number of trucks and cars arrived on a grassy space near to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to reports of the group on an open space on Imperial Road - nearly two miles from the royal residence.

And now it is reported that Thames Valley Police and security guards have today removed the campers.

It is thought they had previously been booted from another area in the south east town which is situated near London.

A statement on the force's Twitter page also said: "TVP and RBWM have worked very closely together re the unauthorised encampment on Imperial Road.

"A Section 61 notice was served this morning and I can hear over the police radio, that they have now left the site and it is now clear.

A councillor for the area confirmed authorities had started eviction process.

Amy Tisi said on Facebook: "We met with Thames Valley Police on site. The eviction process is already underway but obviously has to meet legal obligations.

"In the meantime, there is existing CCTV in the park and TVP will be making increased patrols.

"The Community Wardens have already been on site and officers from the Health team will check on the welfare of the travellers, especially children and any expectant mothers.

"We have requested that RBWM provide sufficient extra bins on site for the number of caravans, so that the travellers can dispose of rubbish appropriately."

Meghan and Harry moved to Frogmore Cottage from west London earlier this year before having their first child, Archie.

It is situated about half a mile south of Windsor Castle where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in May last year.
