Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's new podcast: 98% of people are not very interested

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have launched a Spotify podcast that most of the British population have said they won't be listening to, reports the Express.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have set up Archewell Audio - a new production company - and have signed a deal with Spotify for a new audio streaming service.

However a YouGov poll has revealed that the majority of the British public won't be tuning in.

The research, which surveyed 5,755 Great British adults on Thursday, December 17, showed that 77 per cent of respondents said they weren't interested at all with another 12 per cent saying they weren't very interested.

Whereas just two per cent said they were very interested while five per cent said they were fairly interested and four per cent said they didn't know.

According to the Express, speaking about the podcast, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said: "What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction.

"With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other's stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are."

The launch of their new podcast service comes not long after the royal couple signed a multi-million pound deal with Netflix.

A Holiday Special will be the first episode and will air in the coming weeks.
