Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton 'to stay in separate houses at Balmoral to 'ease pressure''

Meghan Markle is staying in a separate building to her sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge during their summer trip to Balmoral, a insider has claimed.

The royal women and their husbands Princes William and Harry are joining the rest of the Royal Family for their annual visit to the stunning Scottish estate despite rumours of a fallout between the two couples.

Meghan, Harry and Archie will reportedly stay in the main house, alongside the Queen and Prince Philip, while the Cambridges and their children unpack their bags in the cottage Tam-na-Ghar, which is in the grounds.

A source told Vanity Fair : "The Queen has a lot of guests coming and to ease the pressure the Cambridges are likely to stay at the cottage. That could have added benefits for everyone as it means more space in the castle.”

Kate and Wills aren't the only Royals who won't be staying in the main house, with Charles and Camilla often opting to stay in Birkhall, which used to be the Queen Mother's house.

According to the source life at Balmoral is far from your traditional relaxing countryside holiday.

The Queen and Philip go up for several months, with other members of the family joining them at different times.

They said: "It can get quite busy at what they call ‘the big house’ and it’s not especially relaxing even though it’s a holiday.

"There’s a daily routine which evolves around meal times, several outfit changes every day, sometimes five, and the Queen likes everything to run like clockwork. The focus is on being outdoors and in the countryside walking, grousing, fishing and hunting."

However the Royals won't be able to take part in one of their favourite summer activities this year, and they're sure to be very disappointed.

The Queen has been forced to call off the whole grouse shooting season as there has been a drop in the number of the birds in the area due to insects and bad  weather  , reports the  Express  .

Prince Charles, William, Harry and Kate have all been known to go out shooting over the summer months, and last year they even took little George along to watch.

The news will be a blow to the family, who are all said to really enjoy shooting.

An insider told the Express: "There’s not much else to do at Balmoral and that’s why so many guests come. It’s a great shame."

However there's one member of the family who will probably be very pleased by the news - Meghan.

The Duchess is believed to be strongly against bloodsports and reportedly wasn't happy about her husband taking part in the family's annual Boxing Day shoot at Sandringham.
