Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton to return to Wimbledon together to watch women's final

The Duchess of Sussex will join her sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge to watch the Wimbledon women’s final tomorrow.

Kensington Palace confirmed the two royals will attend the sporting spectacle, which is taking place on Saturday.

“The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and The Duchess of Sussex will attend the Ladies' Singles Final at The Championships, Wimbledon on Saturday 13th July,” a statement released on Twitter said.

Serena Williams and Simona Halep will face-off in the final, which will be played at 2pm.

Kate will also attend the men’s final on Sunday along with her husband the Duchess of Cambridge, the Palace announced.

Both Duchesses have attended previous days of the tournament and visited last year, in what was their first engagement as a duo.

Meghan's impromptu visit to see Williams, who is a friend of her, play last week caused controversy when her royal protection officers told visitors not to take photos because she was there "in a private capacity".

A host of famous faces have been spotted in the crowds this year, including Hugh Grant, Jude Law, Pixie Lott and Sir David Attenborough, who attended day 11 of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.

Famous faces descended on the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in south-west London on Friday, for the highly-anticipated men's semi-finals.

Wimbledon said there was a “capacity crowd” at centre court for the men’s semi-finals.
