Meghan Markle and Harry get help from George Lucas after £112million Netflix deal

Star Wars fan Prince Harry now has a Yoda to guide him in the world of film making.

The prince did not have to travel to a galaxy far, far away to find the perfect mentor.

Instead, he has found a friend in Star Wars creator George Lucas, who lives near Harry and Meghan’s US mansion.

The pair had dinner at Lucas’ estate after striking a £112million deal with streaming service Netflix to make films and documentaries.

A source told the Sunday People: “George has been helping Harry and Meghan with their Netflix projects.

“They all get on really well and Harry is a massive Star Wars fan.”

Harry, 36, and brother William, 38, bonded with Lucas at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire when he was filming Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The force was so strong between George and the princes at the April 2016 meeting that he let them play stormtroopers in the movie.

The brothers also attended the 2017 premiere together.

It is thought the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix deal will enable the couple, who stepped back as senior royals in January, become more financially independent.

In a statement, Harry and Meghan said: “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens.”

In April, former Suits actress Meghan, 39, narrated a Disney nature documentary but does not plan to return to acting.

The couple may appear on screen in documentaries, however.

The Royals and George Lucas did not return requests for comment.
