Plans to name an Australian fire-fighting plane after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby son had to be abandoned after the royal couple intervened.
The New South Wales government had hoped to mark the fact that Meghan announced her pregnancy while in Australia in 2018 by calling the plane Archie.
But when the state government made an official request, they were turned down, the Sydney Sunday Telegraph said.
In a letter the royal couple thanked the government for the “kind offer” but politely declined because Archie had “not yet entered public life”.
Instead the 737 Large Air Tanker, which had a key role in quenching this year’s disastrous bushfires, was named after ex-state governor, Marie Bashir.
It comes as Meghan was targeted by hackers, demanding she 'give Harry back' to Britain.
Cyber squatters have been targeting a number of website domain names that could hypothetically be used by the royal couple for their new charity 'Archewell'.
Among them are http://archewellcharity.com/ which displays a prank message calling for the return of Prince Harry to the UK.
It reads: "We will surrender this domain upon the immediate and safe return of Prince Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex to Her Majesty's United Kingdom.”
Underneath the demand, which appears to hold Harry and Meghan’s new venture to ransom, is the address of Buckingham Palace and a fake email address.
It comes after another website domain was snapped up by a troll which redirected users to the Kanye West music video “Gold Digger”.
Fans who visited www.archewellfoundation.com were redirected to a video of rapper Kanye’s 2005 hit.
Anyone typing in the address got a message saying, “This site can’t be reached”, after internet hosts took action.
