Meghan Markle: All the hidden details behind her new children's book The Bench

Meghan Markle has revealed she filled her new children's book with hidden details about her loved ones.

The Duchess of Sussex said fans of The Bench will discover "sweet little moments" dedicated to her family if they read between the lines.

She released the book on June 8 - just days after her new daughter Lilibet was born - describing it as a "love story" about her husband and son.

The 40-page £12.99 ($18.42) book is illustrated with pictures of a family including one of Meghan cradling a newborn baby in a possible nod to their newborn daughter Lili.

In an interview with NPR about The Bench, she said: "Just all of those little Easter eggs or nuggets that are tucked within the book - I mean, there's a lot.

"If people start digging, I think you can find sweet little moments that we've tucked in there, from my favourite flower, even my husband's mum's favourite flower, forget-me-not's - we wanted to make sure those were included in there.

"There's a lot of special detail and love that went into this book."

Meghan's touching nod to her late mum-in-law comes on a page featuring blue forget-me-nots illustrated by Christian Robinson.

As well as Princess Diana's favourite flower the duchess included pictures of her own bloom of choice - peonies.

Even a group of rescue chickens from the family's coop at their Montecito mansion make an appearance in the book, with Meghan saying: "I needed my girls in there".

With unmistakable red hair, an illustration of Harry features in the book wearing what appears to be military uniform and playing with a little boy likely to be Archie.
