Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, make Vogue’s list of 25 influential women

British Vogue has unveiled its list of 25 influential women who are “shaping” and “progressing” their respective fields.

The fashion bible’s famous September issue is this year dedicated to honouring some of the world’s most important - and famous - women who, Vogue said, were “shaping 2021 and beyond.”

The Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge are both featured on the list, as are designer Vivienne Westwood, Bridgerton actor Phoebe Dynevor, musician FKA Twigs and Oscar winners Kate Winslet and writer Emerald Fennell.

Cassandra Russell, head of fashion, luxury and retail brand partnerships at TikTok, racing driver Charlie Martin, hairstylist Charlotte Mensah, FA chairwoman Debbie Hewitt, literary agent Emma Paterson, and Jade Fadojutimi are among the others on the eclectic list.

Jane Fraser, chief executive of Citigroup, Mayor of Liverpool Joanna Anderson, Joeli Brearley, CEO of campaign group Pregnant Then Screwed, chef Margot Henderson, journalist Marina Hyde, designer Priya Ahluwalia and activist Rosamund Kissi-Debrah are also on the list.

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Soma Sara founder of Everyone’s Invited, Sulinna Ong head of music at Spotify, and Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain Zara Mohammed, complete the list.

A post in Instagram from British Vogue read: “Introducing British Vogue’s fourth annual line-up of The Vogue 25: the remarkable women shaping 2021 and beyond.

“From the women playing invaluable parts in battling the pandemic, to the progressive females who are leading the way in their field and the activists laying foundations for a more equal future, these are the figureheads paving the way for us all - and are continuing to do so.”

To celebrate this year’s list, British Vogue held an intimate event in association with Audemars Piguet on Thursday 5 August at AP House in London hosted by Vanessa Kingori, Chief Business Officer to British Vogue & Condé Nast, Style.
