Meghan and Prince Harry arrive at Invictus Games after secret UK visit with the Queen

Prince Harry and wife Meghan have arrived at the Invictus Games following a secret visit to the UK for a meeting with the Queen and Prince Charles.

The happy couple were seen holding hands at a special reception for Invictus competitors in The Hague on Friday afternoon.

Meghan was the picture of elegance as she wore a £3,200 Valentino white suit, with white heels and a handbag, the Mirror reports.

They walked on a yellow carpet to honour the Games' branding before heading inside a giant marquee to meet competitors and their families, as well as city leaders and officials from the Dutch Ministry of Defence.

Earlier the pair met the Ukraine Invictus team ahead of the games' opening ceremony tomorrow evening.

Harry was pictured being handed a calendar by one of the people at the reception while Meghan could be seen smiling in the background.

Ukrainian Oleg Karpenko tweeted about meeting the prince saying: "You just look who is here with us the Prince himself with a calendar.

"The Invictus Games Ukraine team will soon start winning its medals at these competitions. Proud."

They lapped up cheers and applause as they made their way to the events, which were held one after another at the same venue.

Meghan wore a double-breasted Valentino wool blazer and a pair of high-waisted pair of trousers for the event.

She donned a small gold necklace and bracelet, which dangled near what appeared to be Princess Diana's Cartier watch on her left wrist.

The duchess gave her jacket to an Invictus Games competitor at one point to keep her baby warm.

It was revealed earlier this week that Meghan would be accompanying her husband to the Invictus Games in The Hague, with their trip being filmed by cameras for a Netflix documentary.

It is the first time they have travelled together outside the US since they quit the UK for California in early 2020.

Their appearance at the reception today comes after it emerged they secretly visited the Queen and Charles yesterday on a whistle-stop trip to the UK.

They jetted in from the US for the face-to-face meet up with the monarch at Windsor Castle yesterday afternoon.

The couple, who snubbed the chance to attend the late Prince Philip's memorial service last month, smiled and waved at the stunned onlookers.

Members of the public were in the grounds of the royal estate for the traditional Maundy Thursday ceremony.

One said: "I couldn't believe it when I saw who it was."

The Sussexes quit as working members of the Firm in March 2020 and have since settled in California with their two children.

There have been mounting tensions between the pair and the rest of the royals due to a series of scandalous claims made from across the pond.

The surprise appearance came amid Harry's ongoing legal action against the Home Office after it refused to supply him with armed bodyguards during any future visits to Britain.
