Meghan and Harry will 'run out of quick deals' and 'disappear' in five years, says expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "will run out" of "quick deals" with brands and could disappear in five years unless they "develop a new brand plan", according to a PR expert.

The couple recently announced they have parted ways with Spotify following the collapse of their $25million (£20million) deal, which was signed back in 2020. Despite the axe, Harry and Meghan have continued to list the partnership on their website.

The Archewell website still boasts about the "exclusive partnership" which was created to "spotlight diverse perspectives and voices".

PR expert Kieran Elsby believes Meghan and Harry will have made a conscious decision to keep the Spotify mention in order to show other brands they are "targeting major deals".

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: "It is simple They need the Spotify association more than Spotify needs them. How times have changed.

"It is important to remember that their website serves as a representation of their brand and the Spotify mention will hold significance in their overall vision. It will show potential brands that they are targeting major deals and want to work with global brands."

Kieran, director of Media Global PR, said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex need to come up with a new game plan if they want to remain relevant to brands.

"I do feel they re-strategize and develop a new brand plan to ensure continued earnings, they seem to be very short term, quick deals, high prices with little longevity or real content. Soon enough these will run out.

"They should focus on long lasting deals, with real quality, depth and if they do that, their brand may remain relevant for a prolonged period," he said.

Thinking ahead to the future, the PR expert suggested Meghan and Harry need to "regroup" if they want to continue to gain an audience.

"In truth the real question is 'What can they offer in 5-10 years time?' I'd suggest not much on current form, yet if they regroup and stop focusing on making a quick buck, they may just still have some pull in the future," he said.
