Meghan and Harry 'striving for reconciliation with Queen' as US travel ban lifts

It's been three months since former working royals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their second child, daughter Lilibet Diana.

Unfortunately, since the birth of the couples new arrival baby Lilibet hasn't been able to meet her great grandmother The Queen.

The Queen hasn't seen Harry since his grandfather, Prince Phillip's funeral or Harry's family since they moved to America last summer.

Harry, 37, flew home to England for Prince Philip’s funeral in April and the unveiling a statue of his late mother, Princess Diana, in July.

The Duchess of Sussex has remained in the States with their children as at the time of Prince Phillips funeral, the Duchess was unable to fly due to her pregnancy.

The lack of family time is a likely blow for the Queen, who would surely love to spend some quality time with Lilibet and her older brother Archie, now two.

And following the US government's decision to lift its ban on travel to the UK from November, a royal expert has revealed Harry and Meghan are “striving for reconciliation" – urging them to book a trip to England before Christmas.

Adam Helliker told The Sun: “I think it's imperative for family unity that the whole family comes over because, to put it bluntly, the queen is getting older and these won't arrive too often again.

“I think Harry will feel particularly guilty if she doesn’t see the great-grandchildren she’s not seen much of - or the great-granddaughter she’s not seen at all.”

“If they’re going to try to patch things up then I think it’s paramount that they start planning a trip for maybe early December."

He continued: “For Harry, those family ties - until he was encouraged by her [Meghan] to break them - were really important.”

Since relocating to the States, Harry and Meghan have had a rocky relationship with his relatives here in England.

The rift was not helped by the couple's bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, which was watched by 50 million people worldwide.

The pair made a number of startling claims in the chat, shocking both Oprah and viewers by alleging someone in the Royal family asked what colour Archie's skin would be at some point in the months before he was born.

Earlier this month, Prince William shared a rather short birthday message to his brother, making it clear there are still repairs to be made to their shattered relationship.

A visit to the UK will also be an opportunity for Archie and Lilibet to bond with their cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who enjoyed a summer break in Balmoral with the Queen – who goes by the adorable nickname 'Gan-gan'.
