Meghan and Harry's baby will be 'unifier' for royals but Queen to meet her on Zoom

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's daughter will help bring the royal family together but the Queen will have to meet her on Zoom, an expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's second baby is due later in the summer but with the couple living in California it is unknown when Her Majesty will get to see her great-granddaughter in person.

The editor-in-chief of True Royalty TV, Nick Bullen, said the birth of a new baby "is always a unifier for a family" and he believes it will help repair the divide in the Firm.

Meghan and Harry's decision to step down as senior royals last year and leave the UK, as well as their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview in March has led to some strained relations.

The chat with the US talkshow host saw them make damaging allegations against the royals, including claims son Archie's skin colour was questioned.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Mr Bullen said: "The birth of a baby is always a great unifier for a family and I’m sure all sides of the Sussex family will want to celebrate with Harry and Meghan.

"I think you can be absolutely certain that Harry and Meghan will be jumping on a Zoom call to introduce Her Majesty to her 11th great-grandchild."

It comes after Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, celebrated Archie's second birthday last Thursday.

They are said to have splashed out on gifts in an effort to go the "extra mile" before the new arrival.

The young royal was given new toys and clothes and a sweet note from his parents, according to reports.

Former Hollywood actress Meghan also made her first TV appearance since the Oprah interview last week.

In a pre-recorded message for the Global Citizen VAX Live concert she spoke of her baby's imminent birth while cradling her stomach.

She said: "My husband and I are thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter.

"It's a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world. When we think of her, we think of all the young women and girls around the globe who must be given the ability and the support to lead us forward."

The couple, who live in an £11million mansion in the secluded Montecito area of Santa Barbara, announced they were expecting a second child in February.

A month later they told Oprah the sex and that she was due in the summer.
